Wildlife & beyond

YAY! I just spotted a family of healthy-looking deer prancing across a field. The air suddenly feels fresh. There are more trees and bogs and natural rock formations.

My cell has lost a connection so I no longer can post photos. I know it's terribly disappointing.

Imagine trees that aren't yet green, ponds with strange fauna growing atop, and the sky filling quickly with gray rain clouds... all are a little blurry.

Moving right along...

Nothing to see here folks. Just keep it moving.

As it turns out

Just so happens that Amtrak can't keep steady wifi once we hit the mountains. Considering the next stop is in Vermont, I may or may not be able to post further. I have also been informed that they are ditching this last (formerly first) car at the next stop so I'm going to have to relocate to another spot.

No joke

We stopped abruptly in some random area. The lights & power went out. The lights and power came back on. We lurched a little. We are now headed in reverse. Through all of this the wifi seems to continue.

I'm finding it quite disconcerting that we are actually headed backwards.

Amusing Lady, are you driving this train?

In the general direction

I'm officially on some train tracks that I have not previously ridden. I'm trying to see this as symbolic in some way... although the next stop is the town where a certain some one currently resides. In keeping it symbolic, however, the train will continue past that station and onto new places I have yet to discover. Se la vie, right?

In other news, Amusing Lady has decided to pack up & switch train cars so I am almost entirely alone at this point in the journey.

Darn...

The ticket guy helped the amusing lady find her seat. She walked by, yet again, and he stopped her from leaving the car again and directed her back to her safety cushion.

Amusing

There is a woman on board who continues to be confused about where her seat is in relation to the bathroom, cafe car, other cars in general. She has passed by several times throughout the trip looking for her seat. It's somewhat entertaining because we all recognize her but she has no idea where she is even if only a few moments has passed since she left her seat to use the facilities. Is it mean? I suppose so, but she was making that fucking baby coo so I don't give a shit if she is lost as a bitty in high grass!

Hoooorrraaaahhhh

Ok, I'm relieved the crying baby is gone. Time to unpack the club soda & stuffed grape leaves for a late lunch celebration. Love traveling by train and bringing any food and beverage I want.

Perhaps then I can get that nap I've been considering?

Sigh

No, they didn't get off the train. The kid seems as pissed off as I am about it.

Let it be true!

I just over heard the ticket collector asking where the noise makers are departing.... Sounded like the next stop. Please please please let it be so!

Connecticut

The the baby has garnered attention from several old women who no longer have brats of their own to ruin the lives of fellow passengers. Yes, encourage it further, won't you??

Deep breathing

Trying not to think about what baby human would taste like dipped in bbq sauce...

Also, amtrak is creepy. If you use their wifi they show you where the train is. This page must remain open in order to use the service.

I swear to god... if you hear about a dead baby on the amtrak Vermonter train today, its me... I did it.

YOU!

Hey, you with the kid who got on at the last stop... I don't know if it's called cooing or whatever in your baby-making breeding universe but SHUT THAT FUCKING BRAT UP!

And YOU... the lady who sat down directly in front of me... was it necessary to take a bath in perfume? WAS IT?!?!

grrrrrr...

Departure

Almost everyone got off the train in NYC so I had time to walk around and snap some interior photos.

Stuff

I'm so...

Aren't I so cool with my photo blog of random shit? I can snap photos with my phone and post them for the world to judge.

Look at me being a contributing part of society!

Modern Art

There is some amazing graffiti along the train tracks.
